Project Uplift is a Crossfit® style competition held in the parking lot of Whole Foods Market Fort Collins that raises money for Kid’s at Heart, a local non-profit supporting foster and adoptive families in Larimer county. All proceeds from the event go to Kid’s at Heart. 125+ athletes competed during the all-day event, with 750+ family and friends watching. A tremendous amount of energy and people come together to make this event happen (50 volunteers, 60 vendors/community partners). Our goal last year was to raise over $10,000 and we crushed it with $20,064. This year we are looking to break $30,000.
The back story… I am a foster parent here in Fort Collins and currently my family and I are adopting a child from the foster care system. The owners of Fort Collins OTAC Crossfit (event co-host) have adopted a child into their family. Erica, the director from Kid’s at Heart, has worked in the foster system for many years. Some of the athletes competing in the event are also foster parents. We have an amazing community and this opportunity raises more awareness for the need for Foster and Adoptive families in Colorado. Thank you to all of our community partners for giving us the opportunity to support our community.

Instead of giving gift cards to athletes like last year, we gave a $500 gift card to Rogue Fitness for the gym with the most athletes at the competition. Crossfit DNR won with 26!
